| How Long at ACC: |
6 years |
| Growing up: |
I was born in India. My parents were missionaries there. Next, I lived in North Dakota and Minnesota. I have lived in Washington since 1973. I have fond memories of spending many hours at the churches my father pastored. |
| Family: |
My wonderful husband Mike and I have been married for 18 years. We have four great children - Emily, 10; Rachel, 8; and our twins Michael and Sarah, 6. |
| Education: |
I graduated from Trinity Western University in 1989 with a BA in Elementary Education and a minor in Music. Later I received a Master's Degree from Lesley University in 1994 in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Creative Arts and Learning. |
| Past employment: |
I worked for the Bethel School District from 1989-2000 as an elementary teacher. I stayed home for a few years to nurture and care for my little ones. I returned to teaching in 2005 to work for the Edmonds School District as a half-day kindergarten teacher. |
| Activities/Hobbies: |
I love to exercise, sew, paint, draw, garden, sing, play piano, read and spend time with my family. |
| Why ACC: |
My husband and I met at Alderwod in the college group. When we moved back to the area it was natural for us to attend our "home" church. I have always found Alderwood to be a strong Bible teaching church that has an excellent focus on missions and outreach. It provides a warm community and foundation for our family. God has called me to work with children and minister to families. I am proud to serve Him in the preschool department at Alderwood. |
| Great times at ACC: |
I remember Reine Huber and Cheryl Manning welcoming me at my first MOPS meeting. I have enjoyed working in children's programs for the last 6 years and before. Summer Bible programs are always a highlight. I also enjoy the great teaching of the pastors and leaders of the church. The Bible studies I have attended have been life changing! |
| Favorite Music: |
Rich Mullins, Casting Crowns and Michael W Smith are definitely favorites. I also appreciate classical and the best old hymns. |
Bookshelf:
(last three books read) |
Sharing Jesus Without Fear, William Fay and Ralph Hodge; The Vision of His Glory, Anne Graham Lotz; Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis. |
