CURRENT EVENTS

Haiti Trip
In early March five ACC men responded to an urgent request from Haiti for a construction team.  Their mission was to install windows in an “under construction” orphanage for boys founded and led by Haitian Pastor Jehu.  On less than a week’s notice, these guys were ticketed and on their way to Port-au-Prince.  The following pictures help tell their story...

Men's B.C. Adventure 2010, Sep 30 - Oct 3
At the Malibu Club on the striking and rugged Princess Louisa Inlet in British Columbia, you'll experience an amazing place to get renewed and recharged. Its location and scenery are unmatched. Speakers will be challenging and encouraging, and there will be plenty
of time to hang with the guys. The camp will be in full operation with water skiing, wakeboarding, ropes course, climbing wall, zip line, kayaking, basketball, volleyball, and swimming all available. More info and registration form. Contact: Tim Walton

DUI INFORMATION:  Here’s the problem—Canada is tough on DUI’s.  If the border agent asks your carload if you have any legal/criminal convictions, and you have a DUI on your record, you better say “Yes.”  And you will probably be denied entry.  We have spoken to a Canadian border official regarding the DUI situation.  If the conviction is recent (last 3 years or so), there is no possibility for you to cross if you are asked.  They have a process in which to pay a fee to have it wiped off the record, but the man we spoke to said that is usually not allowed for more recent offenses, and that a traveler would be denied if there is any other offenses on his record.  Plus, that process takes a good amount of time, sometimes up to a year!  Of course, you can take a chance that they will not ask you at the border and you can just pass through.  Often the agent just asks where you are all from, where you are going, and how long you will be in Canada.  If so, no problem!  So it’s a calculated risk.  We don’t want you to stay away, but you should be prepared for the possibility that you will be denied at the border and have a back-up transportation plan to get back home.  Here is a helpful website on the DUI issue:

If you are turned back at the border, your entire registration payment will be cheerfully refunded to you.
