Welcome to Children's Ministries at Alderwood Community Church!

Alderwood kidz is a place of wonder and discovery as children learn Bible truths .  Our wonderful volunteers and staff are here to serve you by providing an environment where everyone can experience God.  It is our goal during each weekend service to create a safe and loving environment for your children to learn about Christ and His role in our lives.

Those precious little ones are loved and cared for in our nursery.  Adorable and active preschoolers to Pre-K learn about God in Downtown at Alderwood Park Zoo through interesting Bible stories, lively singing, crafts, and of course snacks!  Elementary Kids (K-5) head upstairs to Uptown Kidz where they will meet in the Town Center for Awesome worship, exciting games, fun Bible teaching and small group time to help kids grow in thier relationship with Jesus Christ.

Nursery

The nursery accomodates newborn to 24 month old children.  The ministry of the nursery department is first and formost a ministry of Christ-like love and nurturing to the infants.  It is also a ministry to the parents so that they may attend services and adult classes with the knowledge that their child is being properly cared for.

Nursery children can go to room C100 at 9:00 and 11:00am

Downtown at Alderwood Park Zoo (Pre-school)

Our Alderwood Park Zoo is for 2 year olds to Pre-Kindergarten age children.  In this area, children are taught with age-appropriate material where they will learn about people, places, and events from the Bible. Each morning consists of singing, storytelling, crafts, and of course snack time!  Our 2 year olds (Pandas) meet in C101, 3 year olds (Monkeys) meet in C103, and the 4/5 year olds (Giraffes) meet in C102.

Uptown Kidz (Elementary Sunday School)

Elementary Sunday School classes are for Kindergarten to 5th grade children.  In Uptown Kidz all our children will meet in our Town Center for Worship, fun and exciting games, announcements, and prayer time.  Children will then attend a class just made for thier age.

1st Hour:

Uptown Church - grades 2-5 (meets in the "Town Center" - C200)

Uptown churchis a high energy program specifically designed to meet the needs of active 2nd through 5th grade children.  After our worship and game time, a cool and interesting lesson will be taught from the Bible.  We will then meet with some terrific leaders in small groups!  We get together and talk about what we learned, how our week at school has been, share any pray requests, and have a blast together.

K/1 grades

Kindergarten and 1st grade students will meet in C202 for worship, story time and then gather in small groups.  We will use the Promiseland curriculum in order to begin to lay a strong foundation of Bible knowledge and understanding.

DPK (Dynamic Praise Kids Children's Choir)

Children in grades 2-5 have the option of joining our Children's Choir.  DPK will meet in C201 September - May.  This fun, energetic choir practices some great and wonderful music to perform through-out the year.  They also work hard on performing a Spring Musical with drama, and exciting worship music. Registration is required.

2nd Hour:

K/1 grade - C202

This room is just the place for children in Kindergarten and 1st grade. They will partcipate in worship and then kids will dive into activities with enthusiasm as age-approriate lessons, and compelling questions get kids talking.  Kids will find each Sunday is packed with surprises as Bible points are reinforced and they are continually in God's Word!

2nd/3rd grades - C201

All 2nd/3rd graders will meet in C201 after worship and game time to listen to a story and then gather in small groups.  We will use the Promiseland curriculum in order for children to get a sequential view and "make the connection" of God's story presented through the Old and New Testiments.


4th/5th grades - C202

All 4th/5th grade students will meet in C200 after worship and game time for an exciting and relevant message. We will use the Promiseland curriculum in order to continue to build a strong foundation of Bible knowlege and to challenge them to go deeper in their application of the Bible truths.
